Discover Aloe Ferox
These Aloe products are made from various
parts of the Cape Aloe (ALOE FEROX) plant, which grows
profusely in the Southern Cape. The Cape Aloes especially
those found in the Mossel Bay – Albertinia area are
well known for their high concentrations of aloin
and have been exported to Europe for many years. Many
of the Dutch remedies (e.g., Lennon’s medicines) contain
large concentrations of the Cape Aloe.
African slaves kept aloes with them
as their personal belongings as they faced the unknown.
The ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans and the San
have shown their appreciation of this plant by the
drawings they left us.
Sailors used aloes to treat the skin injured by the
elements, ropes, canvas and salt. Missionaries also
spread the aloes with their faith among primitive
communities. Aloes are also mentioned in the Bible
in John 19:39 for the embalming of the body of JESUS!
And also Numbers 24:6 confirming that Aloes are planted
by the LORD.
Today the move is back to natural products and the
Cape Aloe Products are becoming increasingly popular
as more and more people are experiencing their benefits
for physical well being.
- The Aloe plant has 3 usable parts:
- The GREEN epidermis (skin)
- The YELLOW aloin Bitter juice which is found in
the vascular bundles just under the skin
- The inner WHITE filet, which is not at all bitter,
is rich in minerals, vitamins, amino acids, polysaccharides,
enzymes and lipids.
